With the long, dark winter most of the states are currently experiencing, it's always a welcomed sight to have the beautiful work of my favorite Aussie/American photographer pop up in my inbox. Oli & Levi is a cafe in Melbourne that offers a bright and cheerful escape.

Saint Frank Coffe

Saint Frank Coffee has given me another reason to get back to San Francisco. Located in the Russian Hill neighborhood, with a pop-up cafe at the Public Bike shop in South Park, the cafe is modern, warm, and thoughtful. 

Clive Burger

Clive Burger is a wonderful example of a fast casual space with a modern and fun interior. Utilizing cartoon-esq graphics paired with a restrained material and color palate, allows the space to feel whimsy while establishing a clean and modern space. 

Mikkeller Bar

An American take on a Copenhagen brewery, Mikkeller is as much a standout for it's location as it is for the design. 

Elbow Room

I love it when the graphic design, identity, and interior all come together to form a cohesive space and presentation. The Elbow Room restaurants are a great example of this cohesive and thought through design. 

Pressed Juices

As the juice trend continues to expand throughout the world, I love seeing these shops & cafes step up their interior. Creating an environment that matches the product being sold is critical in the food industry today and Pressed Juices created a space fitting with their brand. 

Rawduck

Rawduck, the sister restaurant to London's widely known Ducksoup, is delightfully raw and simple. The wonderful use of concrete and metal come together to create a space that is open and fresh.  

Cafe Plenty

Cafe Plenty uses a neutral color palate, natural materials, and graphic design to create a memorable and fresh cafe interior. 

While limited in color, there are no shortage of rich details and textures that add warmth and depth to the interior.

I love the simplicity and openness that is shown throughout Maison. A winery with a tasting room, deli, and restaurant; all spaces work in harmony but still give a large graphic punch. 

Local Favorite; Parson's Chicken & Fish

As a modern take on the classic neighborhood joint, Parson's created a vibrant and fun space that utilizes color, geometric shapes, and clean lines. 

A Concept Divided; Origo

A trend I've been watching for a while now is duel-concepts under a single roof. If done well, they can offer the owner maximum ROI, attract a larger demographic, and merge interests. Origo, in Romania has done just this by splitting their space and concept by time; coffee shop in the morning, cocktail bar at night. 

Lokaal

Located under an old rail line, the goal was to create an interior reminiscent of the canteens of classic rail stations throughout Europe. Using a minimalist and quality material palate, they were able to create a structured and refined cafe space.  

Littleneck

Littleneck has created the perfect roadside seafood shack in the middle of Brookyln, that could cure any quick craving for the East Coast you may be having. 

Lady M Confections

Lady M Confections signature space treats their cakes and pastures, very appropriately, as the star of the show. 

With clean lines, a neural color palate and minimalist details, all eyes are directed towards the 20+ foot refrigerated display case where the colors and textures of the beautiful pastries is on full display. 

Parlour Coffee

Although located in middle of bustling Winnipeg, the interior style of Parlour Coffee is pure european minimalist.

The warmth exuded from the raw space of Host, located in Copenhagen, is enough to win anyone over.

Le Bal Café

With a mix of modern and industrial touches, Le Bal Café creates a clean and inviting space to enjoy familiar& honest cooking. 

Local Favorite; Big Shoulders Coffee

Name: Big Shoulders Coffee
Location: Chicago, IL

Big Shoulders takes cues from it's Chicago location with both the name, and interior.

The interior is kept simple with nods to Chicago's industrial & manufacturing background throughout.

Matchstick Coffee

Matchstick, located in Vancouver, is a great example of a well thought through concept on a small budget. 

Sportello

Designed as a modern diner concept, this counter service restaurant serves up fresh italian dishes in a modern and vibrant interior.
